God's Bigger Than We Think

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share with you a quick bit of truth God revealed to me last week.

Every 2nd Friday of the month, I do a 2 hour concert @ a coffee shop in Gainesville, Va. Now, for those of you who don't sing, a 2 hour concert does not just happen. You've gotta work up to it just like any other physical activity. Your voice needs to be strong enough to hold out just like a long distance runner needs to train to be able to last till the end of the race.

Well, last month, I got sick, and wasn't able to practice for a couple of weeks. So going into it, my voice was not fully prepared. I was also afraid, because the month before, my voice had given out at that same concert. So I was really praying the whole week ahead of time, that my voice would not give out. But all the while, without realizing what I was doing, I was really doubting God.

He graciously reavealed this to me the morning before the performance. And I was reminded of how God mercifully rescued Isreal from the hand of the Egyptians. When they had come out of captivity and reached the Red Sea, the Egyptians were hot on their trail, and they began to doubt God. They complained to Moses and their faith was failing. But Moses asked God for help, and He parted the waters of the Red Sea for his chosen people to walk across on dry land. Once they had crossed, he allowed the waters to become as before, and the Egyptian chariots chasing them were drowned. What an amazing miracle! Now if God can do that, what makes us think He can't do a silly little things that we ask Him to? Believe me, He IS strong enough to stand up to any obstacles we face.

My faith turned around that morning, and the concert went perfectly. My voice held on till the end. I'm ashamed that I didn't have the faith to trust God for such a small request, but I'm thankful for that lesson He taught me, because since then, my faith in Him has grown tremendously. God is good. He can do anything if we'll only have the faith of a mustard seed!

Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday! Thanks so much to everyone for all of your kind comments as well as your prayers & support. I've officially quit my job, so music is now my full time gig and I've got some exciting projects in the works! I'm beginning work on a Christmas album, which will hopefully be out by Thanksgiving. If you've got any suggestions for songs or wanna tell me your Christmas favorites, I'd love to hear them! When that project is completed, I'll be working on a new album after the 1st of the year.
